Certification & Testing

Harrybilt Engineering have staff experienced in testing all types of road rail vehicles including excavators (wheeled and tracked), trucks (all axle configurations) and backhoes.


With an extensive range of testing equipment, fixtures and a Tri-Gauge 60m test track located onsite.

Harrybilt Engineering offers
comprehensive testing services for most networks, carried out under the supervision and approval of accredited Independent Competent Persons (ICPs). This approach ensures every assessment is independently verified and fully compliant with network standards. Our team has testing experience across Metro, V/Line, Transport for NSW (Railcorp), Aurizon, Government of South Australia and TasRail networks.

Twist Testing

Testing as per AS 7509.4-2009 Australian Standard – Railway Rolling Stock Dynamic Behaviour – Part 4: Infrastructure Maintenance Rolling Stock.


Harrybilt Engineering have multiple calibrated load cells to measure weights at rail wheels simultaneously.

Curve Negotiation Testing

Performed offsite, upon request. 

Rollover Testing

Testing as per AS 7509.4-2009 Australian Standard – Railway Rolling Stock Dynamic Behaviour – Part 4: Infrastructure Maintenance Rolling Stock

Brake Testing

Harrybilt Engineering have 60m of private Tri-Gauge test track to conduct brake tests

Combo Brake Testing

Testing to verify the braking performance of combined Road Rail Vehicle (RRV) and Rail Trailer configurations.


This testing assesses the integrated braking system as a whole, ensuring the RRV and Trailer operate safely and compliantly when used together. 

Harrybilt Engineering can also rectify vehicle non compliance items in house with our well equipped workshop.
