Rail Machine Services & Upgrades
Retrofits, Recertification and Servicing
Rail Machines require servicing at regular intervals to ensure safe, reliable performance.
Reliable operation of the Rail System also depends on the Base Machine being maintained in line with manufacturer specifications. Harrybilt Engineering can coordinate both the Rail System and Base Machine servicing at the same time, providing a streamlined and efficient maintenance solution.
Contact our team to discuss how we can support the ongoing performance and safety of your Rail Machine.
Retrofits
Harrybilt Engineering designs and delivers retrofit solutions that enhance the capability, safety and operational performance of existing Rail Machines.
Example: Tie Down Points for Tracked Excavators
Tie Down Points make transport easier, faster and safer when floating machines from point A to point B. They can be retrofitted to most existing Hi Rail Tracked Excavators delivered by Harrybilt in the past.

Recertification
Harrybilt Engineering can manage every aspect of maintaining a Rail Machine, including coordinating and completing the full recertification process. Recertification work can be completed at the same time as scheduled servicing to minimise downtime and streamline compliance.
Example: Harrybilt recently supported a customer by aligning their Rail Truck service with its recertification requirements, completing both in a single coordinated workflow.
Scheduled Servicing
Below is the recommended maintenance schedule for the Rail Guidance System fitted to ZX140W–ZX170W Hitachi Excavators. This table outlines key service items and suggested service intervals to help maintain optimal performance. Reliable operation of the Rail System also depends on the Base Machine being maintained in line with manufacturer specifications. Harrybilt Engineering can coordinate both the Rail System and Base Machine servicing at the same time, providing a streamlined and efficient maintenance solution.
